Business owner Eric’s background in construction makes him aware of Man’s need to develop and maintain adequate strength and mobility. The Pilates Method was designed by a man with a sizeable component of the repertoire requiring increased upper body and abdominal strength – areas which men are naturally more suited to.

FIVE REASONS WHY MEN SHOULD DO PILATES

1. Build core strength: the core musculature consists of transverse abdominus (front and sides), multifudus (back), pelvic floor (base/floor) and diaphragm (top/ceiling).

2. Increase flexibility: lengthen hamstring and broaden shoulders.

3. Develop often neglected muscle groups: Some of your muscles dominate your daily movements and are stronger than others. Pilates will bring attention to those muscles that do not typically get hit.

4. Get a back bone: “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at age 30, you are old. If your spine is completely flexible at age 60, you are young.” Joseph Pilates

5. Have better sex: The base of the core musculature consists of  pelvic floor muscles. Men who practise pilates have increased control of this region.

What our clients say

I've just turned 60 and have been doing Pilates for 15 months now. My health was fairly good but I suffered occasional back pain and visited my chiropractor regularly. I also enjoy bushwalking but had slipped several times on steep terrain and injured my groin. With expert guidance from Eric, Amanda and other instructors I saw improvement almost immediately. It might sound crazy but I felt stronger, fitter and more flexible after just 3 or 4 sessions. I've seen gradual and continual improvement and have never felt better in my life. The equipment and instruction is first class and I haven't been back to the chiropractor since I started Pilates.
